Experience

  • Senior leadership M&E, research, and gender roles in the UK Government, international NGOs, and the private sector.
  • Worked across Africa, Asia, and Europe on development and humanitarian programmes addressing gender, education, employment, governance, water, and migration.
  • Presented and published extensively on gender equality, engaging men and boys, and represented the UK in international gender forums.
  • Board Director and Advisor to gender-focused NGOs, raising significant funds and volunteering across the UK, Africa, and Asia.
  • Awarded the Certificate of Honour (2019), Rising Star Award in Consulting (2018), and Asian Women Achievement Award (2017).
  • Advanced education: MA in Social Policy and Evaluation (UCL), PhD in Gender (CWASU), and Executive MBA (Henley Business School).

Past projects and examples

  • Management of 20+ quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation projects for UK Government from conception to production of final reports and dissemination of findings on equality and labour market access and participation
  • Undertook primary research on services for female victims of domestic and sexual violence and with young people on sexual heath and sexual violence (for VSO and Cambodian Women’s Crisis Centre). 
  • Designed and provided technical advice as mixed methods technical lead on research tools and design for programmes under DFID’s flagship Girls’ Education Challenge (GEC), the world’s largest global fund dedicated to girls’ education.
  • Designed and implemented a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework including monitoring tools to measure outcomes as the lead of a three way partnership between Zambian Ministry of Gender, UNDP and UNICEF, and VSO under the Joint Program on Gender based Violence. 
  • Delivered training on gender analysis and planning, M&E for gender equity, and gender and economic development (for the Centre for Parliamentary Studies). 
  • Responsible for strategic direction as Deputy CEO of Cambodian Civil Society Partnership and management oversight and leadership through strategic and financial planning as board director at Westminster Women’s Aid. Also as a strategy consultant to clients at PwC. 
  • Technical lead at Plan International UK for the South Asia Water Sanitation and Hygiene Result Programme (SAWRP) consortium partnership implemented in Pakistan and Bangladesh under a DfID Payment by Result contract.
  • Provided technical oversight and direction to the £6bn Conflict, Stability, and Security Fund (CSSF) – with a focus on migration; Women, Peace and Security; and Middle East and North Africa portfolios.
  • Provided gender equality training to professionals and developed a training handbook which focuses on women’s political participation in Cambodia (for Cambodian Civil Society Partnership).
  • Completed a PhD on gender using mixed methods including the design of a new survey instrument; the South Asian Attitudes Toward Women and Domestic Violence Scale (SAATWDVS) and undertook interviews with men exploring concepts such as masculinity, tradition, culture, and religion. 
  • Provided technical advice and sat on boards to increase ethnic and gender diversity (for and in the public and private sector).
